Richard R. Verma, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, will conduct an official visit to Albania, Kosovo, and Serbia from January 7 to 11.
According to a statement from the U.S. Department of State, Verma will address key issues in each of the countries he will visit.
In Kosovo, he will discuss the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia through the EU-facilitated Dialogue. He will also focus on strengthening governance, the rule of law, and promoting economic growth and energy security for the people of Kosovo.
Additionally, Verma will thank the Government of Kosovo for its strong support of Ukraine and for the assistance provided to Afghans in need.
During his visit to Tirana, Verma will discuss Albania’s democratic progress, its defense capabilities, and the deepening of economic ties with the United States.
In Serbia, Verma is expected to address the normalization of relations with Kosovo.
This visit reflects the United States’ commitment to promoting stability, democracy, and economic cooperation in the Western Balkans region.
