U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal has sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by Serbia to Kosovo, referencing the attack in Banjska in September 2023.
Blumenthal urged Blinken to ensure that the United States maintains its attention on Kosovo during the power transition in Washington.
According to Blumenthal, it is critical that the U.S. uses all tools at its disposal during this transitional period to ensure Serbia is kept at bay and incapable of violating Kosovo’s territory.
In the letter, he also called on the U.S. to remain committed to supporting the normalization process between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as Kosovo’s membership in the United Nations.
