The United Kingdom has called on Serbia to ensure that those responsible for the September 2023 attack in Banjska, including Milan Radoičić, are brought to justice.
Speaking during a United Nations Security Council discussion, UK representative Jennifer MacNaughtan also referred to the killing of Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, stressing that more than three years have passed since the attack without Serbia taking action against those responsible.
MacNaughtan further urged Serbia to provide access to archives to help advance efforts to establish the fate of people who went missing during the war in Kosovo.
The UK welcomed the formation of Kosovo’s institutions and called on countries that have not yet recognised Kosovo’s independence to join the majority of states that have done so.
The British representative emphasised that normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia remains essential for long-term stability and the European future of both countries.
She urged both sides to implement the agreements reached through the European Union-facilitated dialogue, including the Ohrid Agreement, as well as commitments concerning self-management for the Serb community in Kosovo.
