Hovenier stated that the United States reiterates its call for those responsible and involved in this “terrible crime” to be held fully accountable.
“Today, I joined the Government of Kosovo and fellow diplomats to honor the fallen police officer, Afrim Bunjaku, who was killed in the line of duty during the attack in Banjskë a year ago. The United States reiterates its call, and it is our expectation that the perpetrators and those involved in this terrible crime be held fully accountable,” said Hovenier.
On September 24 of last year, a group of armed Serbs attacked the Kosovo Police in the village of Zvečan, resulting in the death of officer Afrim Bunjaku.
