Roman Kashayev, the Russian representative at the United Nations Security Council, smiled during the presentation by Daria Zarivna, adviser to the President of Ukraine, who spoke about Russia’s war crimes against Ukrainian children, reported the Center for Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials shared the video on social media, including Facebook, sparking outrage across the country.
Zarivna presented a report to the UN Security Council detailing the systematic violations of the rights of Ukrainian children, including killings, sexual crimes, illegal adoptions, and the militarization of children during Russia’s all-out aggression against Ukraine.
During her presentation, Zarivna described the tragic fate of the Bazilevich family. On September 4, a Russian rocket attack in Lviv killed sisters Daria, Yarina, and Emilia, as well as their mother Yevhenia Bazilevich. While speaking about this horrific event, Kashayev was seen smiling.
