Warning of Border Blockades by Serbs: KFOR Urges to Avoid Actions That Could Create Tensions

Rasha Rojević, the head of the so-called Mitrovica District Citizens’ Association, has warned that starting from September 6, Serbs will organize blockades at all border points with Kosovo.

According to him, the blockades will continue until the Kosovo Police withdraws from the northern part of the country.

In response to this warning, KFOR has issued a statement.

In a reply to Klankosova.tv, KFOR stated that “it is important to avoid actions that could create unnecessary tensions.”

“This is key for sustainable security in Kosovo and regional stability,” said KFOR in its response to Klankosova.tv.

The NATO-led peacekeeping mission in Kosovo says it is closely monitoring current developments and continues to implement its UN mandate to contribute to a safe environment for all people in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.

Meanwhile, KFOR has stated that for further comments regarding the warning about border blockades, the media should address the authorities of Serbia.
