Admiral George M. Wikoff, Commander of NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples), has said that KFOR’s mission in Kosovo remains focused on ensuring a safe and secure environment so that all communities can live in peace, Ekonomia Online reports.

Wikoff emphasised that for more than 27 years, KFOR personnel from over 31 countries have served in Kosovo, contributing to the security of all communities through their professionalism and courage.

“The mandate is clear: to establish, provide and maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the territory of Kosovo so that everyone can live in peace. For more than 27 years, men and women from over 31 countries have proudly served under this noble mandate, with professionalism and courage. For 27 years, they have been committed to creating a safe environment for all communities in Kosovo,” he said.

Admiral Wikoff also praised the dedication of KFOR personnel who have served far from their families to help build a better future for the people of Kosovo. He also spoke about the mission’s ongoing development and NATO’s goal of strengthening its humanitarian assistance capabilities while making the most efficient use of available resources.

“For 27 years, KFOR personnel have served far from their homes and apart from their families to provide a better life for people they have often never even met. KFOR’s mandate is truly noble because those serving in this mission dedicate themselves to a purpose greater than themselves. They serve others. This mission continues to evolve as NATO seeks to strengthen its capacity to deliver humanitarian assistance through an ongoing process of optimisation, maximising KFOR’s effectiveness through integration and the most efficient use of resources,” he said.
