Human rights activist and founder of the Humanitarian Law Fund, Natasha Kandic, urged the “intellectual elite” to support the UN resolution on Srebrenica and not to be “ashamed and uninterested in Serbia’s future.”

“The intellectual elite in Serbia is narrow-minded and uninterested in the future of Serbia. If it were otherwise, wouldn’t it invite President Aleksandar Vucic not to be ashamed to fight against the UN resolution to declare July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide,” she wrote on the X network.

In early May, the General Assembly of the United Nations is to hold a session where member states will express their opinion on the proposed resolution on Srebrenica.

President Vucic, on the other hand, has initiated his mission at the UN against this resolution.

Vucic will also have a series of consultations and meetings with representatives of member states of the United Nations to explain Serbia’s stance on the resolution on the Srebrenica genocide.

He announced that he met with over 120 permanent representatives of various countries at the UN and announced that a cell was formed at Serbia’s Mission to the United Nations in New York to deal with issues related to efforts to adopt the resolution on Srebrenica, stating that Serbia’s chances are not great, but it will fight.

Ahead of the trip to New York, Vucic declared that the adoption of such a resolution would further damage relations in the region and that Serbia would fight vigorously against the adoption of the resolution.
