The U.S. state of Wisconsin has declared an energy emergency in response to severe weather challenges that have disrupted the supply of heating and transportation fuels.

Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin stated that he signed the executive order due to the “ongoing challenges caused by severe winter weather and its impact on the distribution of heating fuels, including heating oil and hydrocarbon gas.”

The executive order aims to address shortages caused by icy roads, delayed rail shipments, and increasing demand for hydrocarbon gas, gasoline, and heating oil.

To tackle the crisis, the executive order suspended regulations, including service hour restrictions for fuel truck drivers, to expedite deliveries.

The emergency energy measures also aim to ensure timely access to essential fuels as residents endure freezing temperatures.

“Delivering heating fuels like hydrocarbon gas and heating oil to those in need will help Wisconsin citizens stay safe as we continue to face cold and freezing temperatures in the coming months,” said Evers.

The order further encouraged residents to conserve fuel where possible and stay informed about weather updates.
