Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has welcomed the latest U.S. sanctions targeting Russia’s oil sector and its so-called shadow tanker fleet.

“These measures deliver a significant blow to the financial foundations of Russia’s war machine by disrupting the entire supply chain,” Zelensky wrote on social media platform X.

He also expressed gratitude for the British sanctions imposed on Russian oil companies, stating that London is contributing to undermining Putin’s ability to fund aggression.

“We value the UK’s continuous efforts to obstruct the operations of Russia’s shadow fleet, which remains a critical part of its oil trade,” Zelensky added.

The sanctions aim to weaken Russia’s revenue streams, thereby reducing its capacity to sustain its military operations in Ukraine.
