The leader of NISMA, Fatmir Limaj, today marked the 19th anniversary of his release from the Hague Tribunal. In a video posted on his profile, Limaj recalled the moment when he was informed by the Hague court that he was acquitted on all charges.
“Today marks 19 years since my release from The Hague, from that process through which the whole world understood the history of the entire people of Kosovo, who rose up to support our just war for freedom and liberation, against a historically oppressive and notorious occupier and aggressor, such as Serbia,” Limaj wrote.
He stated that even more significant than the weight of his release, was the first victory of the national cause before the eyes of the world, through international justice.
“More important than the weight of my release, was the first victory of our cause before the eyes of the world, through international justice. I feel proud that this process, in addition to being the first victory of justice, is a ruling that remains a cornerstone in proving the righteousness of our war in every battle. Therefore, I look forward to the return of our fellow fighters from The Hague, and the final marking of the victory of the just war of the KLA for liberation and freedom,” Limaj concluded.
