Following U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, Tehran appears to have initiated retaliatory strikes across multiple Middle Eastern countries—mainly targeting areas with U.S. military bases or allied nations.
In Dubai, UAE, an explosion was reported at the Fairmont The Palm hotel. Authorities confirmed four people were injured after “an incident occurred in a building in the Palm Jumeirah area.” The UAE Ministry of Defense also said it intercepted a new wave of Iranian rockets and drones, after earlier declaring the country had been hit by “a blatant Iranian ballistic missile attack.”
In Doha, Qatar, explosions were reported near Al-Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military base in the region, according to BBC.
In Bahrain, a U.S. Navy base “came under rocket fire,” according to the state-run Bahrain News Agency.
In Kuwait, explosions were heard after a drone targeting the international airport caused “minor injuries to several staff” and “limited damage” to a terminal, reported the state agency KUNA.
Reuters reported that U.S. air defenses shot down a drone near a U.S. base in Erbil, Iraq.
Jordan, bordering Israel, stated its armed forces intercepted two ballistic missiles, with debris falling in multiple locations.
Israel also reported a wave of Iranian rockets, triggering sirens across the country. The Israeli military said Iran aims to “instill fear among civilians and destroy entire neighborhoods.”
