Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced that he will convene the General Council of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje today at 12:00 at the Emerald Hotel.

Kurti informed about the party meeting following a discussion he held yesterday with the leader of the Partia Demokratike e Kosovës, Bedri Hamza.

Although he stated that the meeting was not called specifically to address the issue of the President, Kurti confirmed that the matter will be discussed. He explained that the gathering is part of the party’s statutory obligation to hold four meetings per year and is particularly important as 2026 is an internal election year for Vetëvendosje.

Kurti indicated that if there is no possibility for a political agreement or a consensual proposal with other parties, VV is expected to soon present its own party-based proposal for the candidate for President of the Republic.

“When there is no possibility for a political agreement, then we will move forward with party proposals that will be made known soon,” Kurti told the media.
