NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte today assessed the U.S. and Israeli military actions in Iran, stating that they limit Tehran’s ability to acquire nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles, but stressed that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization will not be involved in the war.
“It is truly very important what the United States is doing there, together with Israel, because this eliminates, reduces Iran’s ability to obtain nuclear capabilities and ballistic missiles,” Rutte said, speaking to German broadcaster ARD from Brussels.
“There is absolutely no plan for NATO to become involved in such a matter. Individual allies are doing everything they can to facilitate what the Americans are doing together with Israel,” he assured.
