Acting Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq, has clarified that he made a mistake when he stated that Albin Kurti decided to give 24 hectares to the Deçan Monastery “for his sake.”
He explained that he had confused this case with the approval of the request for Patriarch Porfirije’s visit for the Orthodox Christmas of 2023.
“The truth is, and I say this with regret, that I mixed up these two events which occurred close to each other, and now three years or more have passed. I mistakenly said it was related to the return of Deçan land. I wrongly made a permutation using the Prime Minister’s words about the Patriarch’s visit to Kosovo,” Rashiq told Kallxo.com, adding that he regrets if his statement caused confusion, but it was not intentional.
