U.S. President Donald Trump will not allow Iran to disrupt freedom of navigation or the flow of energy through the Strait of Hormuz.
Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, said during a press conference that Trump is determined to ensure that the flow of oil through this crucial maritime route continues without obstruction, so that the United States and its allies can meet their energy needs.
“The President reiterated his commitment to ensuring the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, so that the United States and all of our allies can meet their energy needs,” Leavitt said.
She added that Trump also addressed the “remaining elements of the Iranian regime,” warning that any attempt to disrupt the flow of oil or goods through the Strait of Hormuz would face a strong military response.
