Hours before a plenary session where Democratic Party (PD) members plan to protest inside and outside the parliamentary hall, the Albanian Parliament has implemented reinforced security measures.

According to Top Channel, the Parliament building has been surrounded with metal barricades as a precaution against the planned opposition protests.

Reports indicate that Socialist Party lawmakers are expected to enter the session early to avoid confrontations with opposition protesters. The demonstration is scheduled for 10:00 AM, coinciding with a session in which the ruling majority and opposition are set to clash over SPAK’s request for the removal of Belinda Balluku’s parliamentary immunity.
