The Basic Court in Prishtina – Special Department has informed the public and all media that trial sessions have been scheduled in the criminal case PS.nr.109/24, concerning the indictment filed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo (PPS.nr.65/2022, dated 23.12.2024) against the accused Grujica Veljović.
He is charged with war crimes against the civilian population under Article 142 in connection with Article 22 of the former Yugoslav Criminal Code, currently criminalized as crimes against humanity under Article 143, paragraph 1, sub-paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7, in relation to Article 31 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (KPRK), as proposed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
The trial will be held in absentia, as Grujica Veljović has been unreachable by justice authorities.
The court is calling on Veljović to present himself and surrender to the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo. Furthermore, anyone with relevant information regarding the whereabouts of the accused is urged to contact the Kosovo Police or other competent authorities.
The hearings are scheduled to take place at the Basic Court in Prishtina, Justice Palace, Hajvali, on April 29 and 30, 2026, starting at 09:30.
