Governor of CBK Meets IMF Executive Director in Washington

The Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK), Ahmet Ismaili, held a meeting with the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Yigit Yaşar, as part of the 2026 Spring Meetings taking place in Washington, D.C.

During the meeting, Ismaili informed the IMF representative about recent developments in Kosovo’s financial sector, emphasizing the continued stability of the financial system and progress in payment infrastructure.

According to the announcement, discussions also focused on efforts to increase financial inclusion and strengthen institutional governance.

“The CBK delegation highly valued cooperation with the IMF at all levels and discussed in detail ongoing projects and technical assistance, the progress of which was also assessed positively by representatives of the constituencies in which Kosovo participates,” the statement said.
