After the completion of vote counting—including postal, diaspora, and proxy ballots—the Tisza Party has emerged as the winner of the parliamentary elections in Hungary, securing a strong majority in the 199-seat parliament, according to local media reports.

According to official results, Tisza won a total of 141 seats. Of these, 45 were secured through the party list, while 96 were won in direct constituencies, giving the party a clear advantage to form the government.

Tisza leader Péter Magyar, who is expected to receive the mandate to form the new cabinet, described the outcome as a historic moment. He emphasized that it represents an extraordinary majority, bringing with it significant responsibility in governance.

Meanwhile, the Fidesz party, which has been in power under outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, suffered a notable decline, securing only 52 seats in parliament. Of these, 42 came from the party list and 10 from direct constituencies.

The new parliamentary composition will also include the far-right Mi Hazánk party, which won 6 seats. None of the minority-representing parties managed to secure representation in this legislature.

Preliminary results had already indicated a decisive lead for Tisza, which was ultimately confirmed after all remaining votes were counted.

According to reports, Viktor Orbán has already congratulated the winner, and initial discussions have begun regarding the main directions of the new government. Among the stated priorities are continued engagement within the European Union, including its approach toward Ukraine, as well as strengthening energy security through diversification of sources.
