Acting President and Speaker of the Assembly Albulena Haxhiu has announced that Friday, April 24, 2026, will be declared a national day of mourning in the Republic of Kosovo, in honor of the life and work of academic Rexhep Qosja, who passed away today at the age of 89.
In her statement, Haxhiu said the state expresses its respect and gratitude for a figure who contributed knowledge, work, and authority to Albanian culture.
“In honor of the life and work of academic Rexhep Qosja, tomorrow, Friday, April 24, 2026, is declared a Day of National Mourning in the Republic of Kosovo. With this decision, our state expresses respect and gratitude for a personality who gave Albanian culture knowledge, work, and authority,” she wrote.
