King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a solemn ceremony at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, where they laid a bouquet of white flowers in honor of the victims.
The visit commemorated nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks. Accompanying the flowers was a handwritten note from King Charles expressing his “unwavering solidarity with the American people.”
During their visit, the royal couple also met with first responders, families of the victims, and representatives of non-governmental organizations. They were accompanied by former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, who now chairs the organization overseeing the memorial.
The gesture underscored continued international remembrance and unity in honoring those affected by one of the most tragic events in modern history.
