Romanian President Nicușor Dan has stated that the drone that crashed into a residential building in Galați was a Russian-made Geran-2 model, citing the findings of an official technical report completed by Romanian state experts.

According to the Romanian president, the investigation reached a clear conclusion based on technical evidence, identifying Russia as responsible for the incident, which caused material damage and injuries.

Dan announced that the findings of the report will also be shared with NATO and the European Union, emphasizing the importance of establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The statement comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin questioned the drone’s origin, suggesting that it may not have been Russian and that additional investigations were necessary.

Meanwhile, NATO has condemned what it described as reckless behavior by Moscow and reaffirmed its commitment to defending the territory of all member states of the Alliance.
