Iran has published what it says are key details of the memorandum of understanding reached with the United States to end the conflict between the two countries.

According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, Washington would fully lift sanctions on Iran and pay war reparations as part of the agreed framework. He revealed elements of the deal during a daily press conference, presenting the Iranian version of the agreement.

Key points of the memorandum, according to Iran:

Iranian Funds

  • The unfreezing of Iranian assets and the payment of war reparations are described as two major economic priorities.
  • The United States is said to have committed to implementing both measures.

Sanctions

  • Washington would remove all primary and secondary sanctions against Iran.
  • United Nations Security Council-related restrictions would also be lifted.
  • All limitations on the sale of Iranian oil and petrochemical products would end immediately upon signing the memorandum.

Nuclear Program

  • The nuclear and economic aspects of the agreement are expected to be finalized within 60 days after the memorandum is signed.

Strait of Hormuz

  • Iran would guarantee the security and safe passage of vessels through the strategically important waterway.
  • This would be done in cooperation with Oman and in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Transit fees would be introduced.

Lebanon

  • The memorandum reportedly mentions Lebanon three times, emphasizing its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Violations

  • Iran states that if the United States fails to fulfill its obligations under the agreement, Tehran reserves the right to take reciprocal measures.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that an agreement has been reached and stated that a formal signing ceremony is expected to take place on June 19 in Geneva.
