The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has announced that the results of the June 7 elections could be certified even before July 6.
KQZ spokesperson Valmir Elezi stated that, depending on the daily progress of the counting process, the final results could be announced and certified earlier than initially planned.
“At the beginning of every electoral process, the CEC sets deadlines for completing key activities. Regarding the results, the CEC has scheduled June 26 as the date for announcing the final results and July 6 for their certification. However, these are only projections. If we manage to complete the process sooner, that would be good news not only for the CEC but for everyone. We will continue monitoring daily progress and then determine the exact date for announcing and certifying the final results,” Elezi said.
He also emphasized that every activity conducted at the Counting and Results Center (CRC) or at Municipal Counting Centers can be subject to complaints and appeals.
“Every activity carried out at the CRC or Municipal Counting Centers may be challenged through complaints,” Elezi told T7.
He added that the CEC will wait until all activities at the CRC are completed before determining whether any complaints will be filed.
Earlier, the CEC announced that the counting of ballots cast from outside Kosovo, specifically through postal voting, is continuing for the early parliamentary elections.
According to the CEC, by Monday at 16:00, 102 out of 223 ballot boxes had been counted, representing 35.87% of the total.
“At the Counting and Results Center, the counting process of ballots from out-of-country voting, specifically postal voting, is continuing,” the CEC stated.
