More than 14.6 million attempted cyberattacks targeting information infrastructure in Albania were recorded during the first six months of 2026, according to the National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK).
The authority said 14,628,595 attempted attacks were detected between January and June, equivalent to approximately 56.4 attempts every minute.
According to the data, 54% of the recorded attempts targeted important information infrastructure, while the remaining 46% were directed at critical information infrastructure.
The attempted intrusions affected a range of sectors considered essential to the country’s functioning, including the financial system, public administration, digital infrastructure and the energy sector.
The figures highlight the growing scale of cyber threats facing Albania, as increasingly digitalized public services and critical infrastructure become potential targets for malicious activity.
AKSK said it continues to monitor cyber threats on an ongoing basis while strengthening defensive measures designed to improve the security and resilience of Albania’s information systems.
The authority emphasized that continuous monitoring and enhanced protection remain essential to safeguarding critical digital infrastructure against increasingly frequent cyber threats.
