Former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Daut Haradinaj, commemorated the heroes Rexhë and Arton Qorraj, honoring their contribution during the Kosovo war.
Haradinaj said that the two fighters came from a family with a long patriotic tradition and responded to the call of their homeland by joining the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) from its early days.
“Rexha and Artoni took part in many important battles in the Dukagjin Operational Zone. On July 13, 1998, during a fierce confrontation with Serbian forces in Lower Carrabreg, Rexha fell heroically on the battlefield. On that glorious day, his cousin Arton also fell alongside him,” Haradinaj wrote.
He described their sacrifice as part of the struggle of those who gave their lives for Kosovo’s freedom and remembered their contribution to the country’s history.
