The Office of the President of Kosovo has announced that the appointment process for the new members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) has not yet been completed.
Following the submission of written nominations by political parties, the Presidency requested the relevant security institutions to conduct background checks on the proposed candidates.
Although the five-day deadline for the process expired on Friday, the appointments have not yet been finalised because the Presidency is still waiting for the required security assessments.
The Presidency said that once the responses are received, it will proceed with the remaining steps needed to complete the appointment process.
For now, the nomination process remains pending the completion of the candidates’ security checks.
