Wildfires have broken out in several mountainous areas surrounding Prishtina, prompting the municipality to issue an urgent appeal for caution.
With temperatures remaining high and vegetation extremely dry, authorities warn that even a small spark can quickly turn into a major fire, putting forests, wildlife, homes, property and human lives at risk.
Residents have been urged not to light fires outdoors, burn grass, crop residue or waste, or throw cigarette butts into dry areas. People are also advised not to leave behind embers or any other materials that could ignite a fire.
Anyone who spots smoke or flames is urged to immediately move away from the danger zone and contact the Pristina Fire Department at 193.
The municipality also praised firefighters and emergency teams who are working around the clock to contain the fires and protect residents, property and the surrounding environment.
Authorities are calling for maximum vigilance and cooperation from citizens, stressing that preventing new fires is a shared responsibility.
