The Municipality of Prishtina has notified citizens that there may be temporary delays and disruptions to public transportation due to the planned protest in the capital.

The protest, organized by the Organization of KLA War Veterans (OVL-KLA), is expected to take place today at 12:00 p.m. in opposition to the verdict issued by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi.

The Municipality said that, due to the protest and temporary measures being taken to manage traffic at the entrance to the capital, public transport lines operating through this area may not run according to their regular schedules.

“Dear citizens, we inform you that, due to the ongoing protest and the temporary measures taken to manage traffic at the entrance to the capital, there may be temporary delays and disruptions to public transportation,” the Municipality said in its notice.

According to the notice, the situation may cause delays on bus routes operating through this part of the city.

“As a result of the situation, routes passing through this part of the city may not operate according to their regular schedules, causing delays in their service,” the notice further stated.

The Municipality called on citizens for understanding and patience until traffic conditions return to normal.

Meanwhile, the relevant municipal teams said they are closely monitoring the situation and will take the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of public transportation services whenever traffic conditions allow.
