The U.S. Embassy in Kosovo has issued a security alert for U.S. citizens regarding demonstrations scheduled for today, September 18, in Skënderbeu Square in Prishtina.
According to the alert, several major organizations have announced demonstrations beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The Embassy warned that the gatherings could lead to large crowds, road closures, and significant traffic disruptions in the surrounding areas.
For this reason, the U.S. Embassy is urging citizens to avoid Skënderbeu Square and the surrounding areas while the demonstrations are taking place.
People who may unexpectedly find themselves near large gatherings are also advised to exercise caution, remain aware of their surroundings, and monitor local media for the latest updates.
The demonstrations have been scheduled for Friday, September 18, at 12:00 p.m. in central Prishtina.
