German Ambassador to Kosovo Rainer Rudolph met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti on Friday, congratulating him on his new mandate and reaffirming Germany’s continued support for Kosovo’s European integration, the German Embassy said.

“We look forward to continuing our bilateral cooperation, building on the unique and close relationship between Kosovo and Germany,” the embassy said in a statement following the meeting.

Kurti’s office also issued a statement, saying the prime minister thanked Ambassador Rudolph for Germany’s continued contribution and support for Kosovo.

The meeting focused on recent political developments in Kosovo, as well as regional and bilateral cooperation.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Kurti and Rudolph discussed the Berlin Process, which Kosovo will host for the second time this year, as well as the Kosovo-Germany Economic Forum, scheduled to take place at the end of October.

Kurti also expressed Kosovo’s concerns over the recent judgment by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers involving four former senior Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) figures.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Kurti argued that the judgment contains what he described as “factual, historical and legal inaccuracies” that should be corrected through the appeals process.
