Protests outside the Assembly of Kosovo will continue today, with a large number of citizens expected to join the gathering to demand the approval, in second reading, of amendments to the Law on the Specialist Chambers.
The gathering is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
A day earlier, the protest was marked by significant tensions, clashes between protesters and the Kosovo Police, and the use of crowd-control measures.
The situation became tense following an increased police presence, while tear gas and water cannons were used during the protest. At several points, clashes broke out between protesters and police, with several people reportedly injured.
There were also arrests. Among those detained was the nephew of former President Hashim Thaçi.
According to data made public following the protest, 14 people sought medical assistance, including members of the Kosovo Police among those injured.
After the clashes ended, protesters returned to “Skënderbeu” Square, where the protest under the slogan “Not in My Name” has been taking place for 21 days.
Although last night ended with the protesters dispersing, they have announced that the protest will continue in the coming days.
