Organizers of the “Not in My Name” protest have called on demonstrators gathered outside Kosovo’s institutions to remain calm and refrain from throwing objects at police officers.

Çlirim Haziri, one of the organizers of the “Freedom Has a Name” initiative, emphasized that the police are part of the public and urged protesters not to confront them.

“Police are ours. We have come out to protest, not to clash with the police. Please, do not throw anything at the police. We are here for the KLA,” Haziri said, according to KosovaPress.

The appeal came as the protest continued outside Kosovo’s institutions in Prishtina amid heightened tensions surrounding the ongoing political dispute over amendments to the Law on the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
