The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has accepted Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s proposal of Justina Shiroka-Pula as a candidate for Kosovo’s president, while announcing that it will nominate Eliza Hoxha as a competing candidate.
PDK Chairman Bedri Hamza said the party would attend the Assembly session and proceed with the vote on amendments to the Law on the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
“This should have happened several days ago, and there should have been seriousness about this issue and about the country. For PDK, we will go to the Assembly hall, and we expect to vote on the law and complete this process,” Hamza said.
The development follows hours of political negotiations over the election of Kosovo’s president and the proposed amendments to the Specialist Chambers law, as lawmakers face a deadline to resolve the institutional impasse.
