Kurti on the Ban of the “Mirëdita, dobar dan!” Festival: Instead of Artists, Hooligan Groups Were Given the Floor

Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti has responded after the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered the halt of the “Mirëdita, dobar dan!” festival.

Kurti stated that Serbia closed another EU-sponsored initiative yesterday, a festival aimed at celebrating diversity and uniting artists from Kosovo and Serbia, reports Zeri.info.

“After once again refusing to sign the EU-facilitated Basic Agreement, approved by the USA, Serbia closed another EU-sponsored initiative on Thursday, the ‘Mirëdita, dobar dan!’ festival. A cultural festival with a ten-year history of celebrating diversity and uniting artists from Kosovo and Serbia, ‘Mirëdita, dobar dan!’ was hijacked by Serbia’s ZKM Vulin and Ministry of Internal Affairs Dačić, who distorted it beyond recognition into a grotesque parade of hate and discriminatory messages. Instead of artists, hooligan groups were given the floor,” Kurti wrote on X.

He added that with this action, Serbia has once again displayed its relentless hostility towards anything related to peace and reconciliation.
