Latest Poll: Where Kamala Harris and Donald Trump Stand in the Race
Another poll conducted in part after Joe Biden suspended his re-election campaign has found an even race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, writes The Guardian.
Quinnipiac University reports that 49% of registered voters nationally support Trump and 47% support Harris — essentially a tie, as the finding is within the margin of error. The survey was conducted from Friday last week to Sunday.
Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy says: “The dramatic resurgence in the Democratic lead does little to move the race as Vice President Harris enters with similar numbers to President Biden.”
Perhaps the poll’s biggest finding is that independents prefer Trump overall, the Guardian writes. He has 55% support from the critical group, compared to 41% for Harris.
