Recently, attention has been drawn to a report that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with the notorious criminal Milan Radoičić earlier this month.
According to sources from public television within Kosovo’s security agencies, the meeting occurred during Vučić’s visit to Kragujevac at the beginning of July. The sources claim that various topics were discussed during this meeting, including support for Radoičić’s criminal group, possible protests, the opposition in Serbia, and the incitement of incidents or attacks in northern Kosovo.
Due to international pressure, the meeting was reportedly kept secret. Vučić and Radoičić allegedly agreed to occasionally criticize each other publicly to disguise their close cooperation.
It is said that Vučić assured Radoičić of continued support from the Serbian state and its institutions for his activities, while Radoičić reaffirmed his loyalty to Vučić.
Given the latest details about the Vučić-Radoičić meeting, it is crucial to emphasize that both Kosovo institutions and international security agencies have continuously warned of potential provocations and further attacks from Radoičić’s group.
Radoičić is known to be undergoing ongoing training and is sheltered in Serbia, remaining at large nearly a year after the terrorist attack in Banjska.
It is expected that the primary focus of the meeting between Radoičić and Vučić was Kosovo. But what plans might they be concocting against our state, and how should we respond?
Zogaj: Vučić’s Meetings with Radoičić Are for Domestic Consumption Only
Publicist Skender Zogaj commented on this issue for “Bota sot.”
He began by stating that Serbia is seizing every opportunity to eliminate Albanians. He described Vučić’s meeting with Radoičić as merely for domestic consumption, as Radoičić is too afraid to enter Kosovo.
“The fact that Kosovo is focusing its attention on Vučić’s antics and his collaborations with criminals and criminal groups from the Milošević era is not a good strategy for Kosovo. Kosovo must firmly recognize that Serbia is an implacable enemy that, if given the chance, would eliminate all Albanians! This is what Vučić is trying to achieve by collaborating with Radoičić, who is nothing more than a pitiful coward hiding in Serbia. Vučić’s meetings with Radoičić are solely for internal Serbian consumption, catering to the ignorant Serbian populace,” Zogaj said.
Zogaj also outlined how Kosovo should respond, emphasizing preparation for self-defense and modernizing the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).
“Kosovo needs to be vigilant and well-informed about these meetings. Instead of engaging in banal comments, it must prepare for the defense of the country. Albanians in Kosovo should strengthen themselves and establish a reserve fund amounting to 20% of their earnings for national crisis situations. This is especially crucial for our diaspora who have invested in Kosovo. Capital needs protection in times of danger, and this requires financial investment: the KSF must be modernized, and mandatory military training for all young people aged 18-26 should commence immediately. This is an urgent necessity if we genuinely want Kosovo to remain a free and independent state!” Zogaj concluded.
Duhanaj: If We Operate Wisely in Coordination with Our Allies, No One Can Harm Us
Political analyst Leon Duhanaj emphasized that while the world is aware of Serbia’s criminalization, Kosovo must invest more in responses against our adversary. In his statement to “Bota sot,” he asserted that clear plans are needed instead of focusing on Serbia’s hybrid warfare.
“The fact that Serbia remains a criminalized state is well known globally. However, as Kosovars, we should not spend too much time orienting ourselves towards responses against Serbia. Instead, we need to focus on our own plans. Unfortunately, in recent years, we have lacked such plans and have focused on a hybrid war with Serbia, which benefits us nothing,” he noted.
Duhanaj also called for deeper cooperation and coordination between the Kurti government and the international community.
“As history has shown, Serbia has always been aggressive with nefarious plans against Kosovo. Yet, Kosovo has managed to navigate these challenges thanks to the political acumen of its leaders, who have negotiated with friendly states without yielding to Serbia’s demands. The Kurti government should urgently halt its destructive approach towards the international community (QUINT), as their assistance is crucial. If we operate wisely in coordination with our allies, no one can harm us. However, if we continue with the confrontational approach, anything is possible,” Duhanaj concluded for “Bota sot.” written in english by Rks News
