Valtonen: Finland Ready to Help Kosovo Normalize Relations with Serbia

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen announced that during her meeting with Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla, they discussed the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the normalization of relations between the two countries.

In a joint press conference, Valtonen stated that Finland supports Kosovo and emphasized their willingness to do everything possible to achieve normalization between Kosovo and Serbia. “We have discussed the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue and the normalization of relations, and Finland supports this. We are ready to do everything we can to support you on this path,” Valtonen declared to the media.

Valtonen also noted that Finland has been and will always remain a strong friend of Kosovo.

“Finland has been and remains a strong friend of Kosovo, as was emphasized in the meeting we had today. As a strong supporter of Kosovo, we have supported Kosovo’s EU membership and NATO alliance since it gained its independence,” Valtonen further highlighted.

Additionally, the Finnish Foreign Minister informed that during the meeting they also talked about strengthening cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of trade and others.

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen arrived in Kosovo today.

After her meeting with Gërvalla, the Finnish diplomat will be received by Prime Minister Albin Kurti at 3:00 PM.
