The leader of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, announced that, at the invitation of the University of Chicago, he had the opportunity to share Kosovo’s story – from war to state-building – at the “Pearson Global Forum 2024.”
In a Facebook post, Haradinaj stated that before many scholars, high-level global decision-makers, and experts, he presented his vision for a sustainable future.
“I spoke about the importance of diplomacy and international cooperation. I emphasized Kosovo’s path to freedom and state-building and the significance of embracing Western values in achieving our aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration. Freedom came as the result of a long process. In the 1990s, the peaceful resistance began. In 1997-1999, we started the Liberation War, and later, on March 24, 1999, NATO airstrikes, led by the U.S., began, which led to our freedom and independence,” Haradinaj wrote.
He added that this journey was not easy, but it was and continues to be enduring.
“Kosovo is a success story, and this success is further amplified by the support and partnership from the democratic world led by America. Kosovo eagerly awaits to move faster towards NATO integration. It is essential for states to be responsible and act with accountability,” he wrote on Facebook.
