The French envoy for the Western Balkans, Rene Troccaz, stated yesterday that Kosovo and Serbia are not making significant efforts to normalize their relations.
When asked about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Troccaz emphasized that France is a sponsor of the recent agreement between the two parties. However, he noted that both sides are not doing enough to implement this agreement, as well as the Brussels Agreement from last year.
“We need to normalize the situation. We are working with both parties to facilitate dialogue. This is precisely why the European Union has the so-called Brussels-Ohrid Agreement, which provides a framework within which the two parties, with the help of the EU, discuss overcoming difficulties,” Troccaz said.
“We are aware of what these difficulties are. Therefore, what we call for is for both parties to refrain from any harmful unilateral measures,” he added during the Security Forum held yesterday in Belgrade.
