Kosovo’s Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, announced that the water supply to areas affected by the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal is gradually returning to normal. In a Facebook post, accompanied by a video update, Rizvanolli confirmed that water distribution had resumed late last night to the municipalities of South Mitrovica, North Mitrovica, and Zvečan.

“The water supply to the areas affected by the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal is returning to normal! Late last night, water began flowing again to the municipalities of South Mitrovica, North Mitrovica, and Zvečan,” Rizvanolli wrote.

The Minister further explained that the water had been directed to the Drenas and Shkabaj water treatment plants, while regular water supply resumed in Skenderaj. She added that within a few hours, the water supply is expected to be fully restored in Drenas, Fushë Kosovë, and Obiliq.

“Today, water has already been sent to the Drenas and Shkabaj treatment plants and regular supply has started in Skenderaj. Within a few hours, we expect the water supply to be fully restored for the citizens of Drenas, Fushë Kosovë, and Obiliq,” Rizvanolli concluded.
