Earthquake of Magnitude 6.3 Strikes El Salvador Coast

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the coast of El Salvador today, the country’s Ministry of Environment reported. Authorities confirmed there is no tsunami threat following the quake.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) recorded the earthquake’s magnitude as 6.1 on the Richter scale.

According to the EMSC, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 87 kilometers.
