At the villa built by Milan Radoičić near Lake Ujman, there are currently four police officers stationed during one shift, with some of the internal security cameras not functioning. The police do not see the number of officers on duty as a problem, but they acknowledge that the area where the villa is located in Zubin-Potok is sensitive from a security perspective.

On the 43-acre plot, which was previously owned by Milan Radoičić, the man who led the terrorist attack in Banjska, four police officers are stationed during one shift.

Located just five kilometers from the Bërnjak border crossing and overlooking Lake Ujman, the 1.9 million-dollar villa is monitored by cameras, though many of the cameras inside the building are reportedly out of service, according to sources from Koha Ditore.

The Deputy Director of the Police for the North, Veton Elshani, states that the issue of cameras is not concerning.

“The cameras may be operational at times, and at other times they may not be. What is important is that the officers are present there at all times, staying vigilant and alert. The area is quite delicate, not just the Bërnjak area, where the villa is located, but the entire northern region. However, we have a sufficient number of police officers, and we have technology to fully monitor the area,” said Elshani.

He acknowledges that the area where the villa is situated is sensitive, but considers the number of four officers per shift to be adequate and in line with police planning.

“In the north of the country, there are enough police officers. Two officers in one location is sufficient. It depends on how the supervisors assess the situation. There may be times when 15 officers are needed, sometimes 10, sometimes 20. It depends on the operational evaluation of the police. It is not unusual for the number to be small or large. It may happen that only two officers are present at one point, or we may remove all of them,” emphasized Elshani.

The villa, which was built without permission, is now managed by the Agency for the Management of Seized or Confiscated Assets, and its sole occupants are police officers.

In the indictment against Radoičić, filed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, it is highlighted that the villa was built by Lake Ujman with funds of criminal origin. The prosecution has based this claim on testimonies from Serbian witnesses who guarded the villa, as well as from Albanian witnesses who worked on the construction of the property.

Radoičić is also seen as responsible for the terrorist attack on November 29 in the “Ibër-Lepenc” canal.
