The State Prosecutor of Kosovo has unveiled its 2025 work plan, emphasizing efficiency in criminal investigations, accountability, transparency, and collaboration with law enforcement. A key priority for this year is the seizure of assets linked to corruption and organized crime.
According to the plan, prosecutors will focus on identifying assets for seizure in the first half of the year, with reports on confiscation efforts expected by June. From July to December, the number and value of asset seizure requests will be determined, and enforcement protocols will be implemented.
Strengthening Legal Measures Against Crime
To enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement, the State Prosecutor aims to boost investigations into major criminal offenses, including corruption, economic crimes, organized crime, money laundering, constitutional and security violations, war crimes, and gender-based violence.
Additionally, Kosovo’s prosecution system plans to implement plea bargaining as a tool to expedite justice.
The plan outlines measurable and achievable objectives, with structured monitoring and reporting periods set for January–June and July–December 2025.
