NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held a joint press conference with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after their meeting at the Presidency.
During his speech in front of the media, Rutte thanked Osmani for the warm welcome and also spoke about the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
He stated that NATO will continue its support for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
However, he emphasized that both sides need to show flexibility in order to achieve this goal.
“We hope to see deeper cooperation, as stability in the region depends on all parties, with the political solution being the way forward, not violence. This is the only way to resolve unresolved issues. Both sides must show flexibility. I understand these are difficult decisions, but we must look beyond them for the benefit of everyone. This is the message for the region,” said Rutte.
