NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that in accordance with KFOR’s mandate, the troops are continuously working to provide the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) with efficiency and to ensure a stable and secure environment, as reported by Rks News.

In a joint press conference with President Osmani, Rutte emphasized that for the success of Kosovo’s relationship with Serbia, there needs to be mutual cooperation between the parties.

“We must make it clear that all parties need to be heading in the same direction. It is very important to visit KFOR in Kosovo. The mandate is to ensure that the KSF is effective, and NATO’s goal is for the KSF to be the best,” he declared.

“Our troops work tirelessly to ensure a stable and secure environment in accordance with KFOR’s mandate. A safer region means more security for the entire NATO area,” he added.

“We are ready to respond to any security developments. In this regard, we hope to see even deeper cooperation between the institutions of Kosovo and KFOR. NATO will continue to play its role within its mandate for the security of all. We do this in close coordination with the Kosovo Police, EULEX, and our respective roles. I will be very direct – only together can we achieve peace in the region,” Rutte concluded.
