On March 11, 2025, the White House announced that President Donald Trump will host NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte for a meeting in Washington this Thursday.

In addition to Rutte’s visit, Trump will also welcome Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin to the White House on Wednesday.

During his recent visit to Kosovo, Rutte reaffirmed the United States’ strong commitment to the NATO alliance and its peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, known as KFOR. He emphasized that NATO’s peacekeeping mission in Kosovo ensures security and stability for all communities, while adding that a long-term solution for peace in the region requires a political approach.

Rutte also stated that his message to political leaders in Kosovo and the wider Western Balkans is to act in a predictable manner to ensure peace and stability in the region.
