Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declared that Serbia is exhausted from being “terrorized” for the past four months and emphasized the need to resist those he claims are “destroying” the state.

“It’s boiling in Serbia, but they refuse to see it. Serbia is tired of those who have been terrorizing it for four months. We must do everything to respond to those destroying our country,” Vučić stated in a video address on Instagram.

He urged citizens to protest peacefully and demonstrate their desire for a “free Serbia.”

Ongoing Protests and Public Unrest

Mass protests erupted following the November 1 collapse of a concrete shelter at Novi Sad’s railway station, which claimed 16 lives. Student-led demonstrations have since blocked university faculties for over three months, demanding accountability for the incident.

The movement has gained support from teachers, farmers, lawyers, and other citizens, escalating to widespread unrest.

On Thursday night and early Friday, students blocked the city transport company’s depot in Belgrade, disrupting the operation of 150 buses and 130 trams on Friday morning.

The protests reflect growing dissatisfaction with the government’s response, putting increased pressure on Vučić’s administration.
