The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, commented on the ongoing blockage of the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo since April 15, stating that the root cause is Vetëvendosje’s lack of sufficient numbers to form a government, reports Rks News.

“They were 52, now they’re 57 — I don’t believe they’ll make it to 61,” Krasniqi said.

To elect the new Speaker of Parliament and to form the government, 61 votes are required.

He added that his party voted in favor of the mandate verification report because the minutes included a statement that the members of the government cabinet had submitted individual resignations.
